Abstract

Bridging the digital-divide between urban and rural areas in Malaysia is crucial to ensure education reaches every segment of society, irrespective of where they are. To expedite this effort, the Ministry of Education introduced EDUWEBTV (www.eduwebtv.com), a video based interactive educational web portal. As of July 2009, approximately 380,000 primary and secondary school teachers throughout Malaysia have been trained in the use of EDUWEBTV. This paper reports on a selection of issues and results from a larger nation-wide impact study of EDUWEBTV on students, teachers and administrators that need to be addressed for this programme to reach its full potential in providing quality digital education across the nation
